1199 Ad targets GOP tax bill Urges MacArthur to vote NO

Calls on MacArthur to “Protect Our Families” and Vote Against “disaster” Tax Plan

A radio ad released this week by 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East urges that Rep. Tom MacArthur vote against the Republican tax bill “disaster” that House and Senate leadership haphazardly shoved through Congress.

The Republican from Toms River was the only member of the state’s congressional delegation to vote for the measure, which could hike taxes on many working poor and middle-class families
in New Jersey. Lawmakers are revising the bill before a final vote. The radio spot is being broadcast throughout the week on New York and Philadelphia stations that reach the NJ market. It highlights how limiting State and Local Tax (SALT) deductions will hike taxes on hardworking New Jersey families to “fund huge tax breaks for big corporations and the wealthiest one
percent.”
